Zoe learns hot

So last night my 2.678 year old learned that her hand and a white-hot heating element are no match for each other...the element won round 1. As for round two if there is to be one I assume the element will win again, yet I commend her for trying. Not sure what possesses a young child to touch a stove. I ,ass me and you, that it's the same thing that possesses grown men to drink until life is a fog. Whatever the reason I relate it to something I like to call forceful cognition. When was the last time you had to learn something the hard way. For me it was trying on the no-bark collar I bought for my dog and proceeded to "BARK"....that shit hurt and I'll never attempt such a thing again...ahhh yeah ok you got me I probably will.

So back to forceful cognition. If we had a traumatic experience tied to everything we really needed to learn quickly in our lives would we learn it without all the bullshit. Well I tend to believe we would. Next time a deadbeat dad fails to pay for the children he helped create, shock the shit out of him and kick his ass. POW no more late child support. In my opinion the reward of seeing his children growing up with clean underwear isn't enough to string a reliable chain of common sense into his head. It's funny how for the great majority reward is not a means to ambition or drive. We are driven out of fear of reprisal. Do we stay out of jail because it's better not to steal or because it's better not to be ass raped...well I think we all know the answer to that one!
